Summary

Given the importance of PDE4D7 in prostate cancer carcinogenesis, the correlation in expression between PDE4D7 and these genomic elements identified via RNA sequencing of >650 patient samples is a highly novel observation that has mechanistic disease relevance. Many of these genomic elements have so far not been ascribed to cancer or disease, and others which are known to feature in cancer have so far not been correlated with PDE4D7. In this brief communication, we have summarised our findings of how PDE4D7 expression is associated with downregulated genomic elements within the entire PDE4D coding region, which likely possess unique roles in PCa progression.
