Congratulations to Prof John Petrie who has been appointed as Chair of the Leadership Panel overseeing Diabetes UK’s seven Diabetes Research Steering Groups as well as the Deputy Chair of the NIHR Efficacy and Mechanisms Funding Committee.
Congratulations to Prof John Petrie who has been appointed as Chair of the Leadership Panel overseeing Diabetes UK’s seven Diabetes Research Steering Groups. These are intended to guide diabetes research in the UK so that it has the biggest impact in the areas that matter most to people living with the condition. DRSGs bring together people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals and diabetes researchers. They help to guide diabetes research in the UK, so that it has the biggest impact in the areas that matter most to people living with the condition.

Prof John Petrie has also been appointed as the Deputy Chair of the NIHR Efficacy and Mechanisms Funding Committee. The EME Funding Committee assesses stage 1 and stage 2 proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Department of Health and Social Care, and the Medical Research Council.
