Biography

I completed my PhD at the University of Glasgow in 2024 under the supervision of Professor Joanne Edwards, titled: "The investigation of DHX9 and PDE4D isoforms in prostate cancer."

I work as the Resources and Outreach Manager for the INCISE project which aims to transform bowel cancer screening in the UK by developing a predictive tool for identifying patients with pre-cancerous bowel growths, called polyps, who are at risk of developing further polyps.

Additionally, I am involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the School of Cancer Sciences and the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing.

Research interests

My research interests lie in the field of Precision Medicine, with a particular focus on transforming bowel cancer screening methodologies.

As the Resources and Outreach Manager for the INCISE project, I collaborate closely with the Glasgow Colorectal Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Group, which includes patient advocates, public contributors, a charity representative, clinicians and researchers. Our primary objective within the PPI framework is to prioritise patient interests throughout bowel cancer research.

I am also involved in developing public engagement activities for the Translational Cancer Pathology research group.
