Collaborators
Mr Mark Underwood, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Consultant Urologist is a key contributor to all our prostate cancer projects and provides invaluable insight into the clinical relevance of our work.
We also have a long standing collaboration with the Academic Unit of Surgery, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, in particular with Professor Paul Horgan and Professor Donald McMillan. PhD students Fadia Gujam and Lindsay Bennett, clinical research fellows Samantha Payne and James Park and clinical lecturer Brian Stewart work between both units. Our collaboration aims to link the work of Professors Horgan and McMillan in systemic inflammatory response and tumour microenvironment to our work on tumour cell signalling, to identify novel therapeutic targets and clinical outcome scores.
We also have a strong collaboration with Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science at the University of Strathclyde, in particular Professor Simon McKay, Dr Andrew Paul, Dr Marie Boyd and Professor Robin Plevin. Our collaboration aims to develop the understanding of IKKs in solid tumours and identify small molecule inhibitors that selectively target the different isoforms.
We also collaborate with Professor Hing Leung and Dr Imran Ahmad, based at the CRUK Beatson Institute, particularly if projects include prostate cancer animal models and complex molecular biology.
