Biography
Yanru joined the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School as a Lecturer in Accounting in 2019. She is interested in accounting, art and anthropology; and she is doing ethnographic accounting research. She graduated from the University of Glasgow with a PhD in Accounting, and from the London School of Economics with a MSc in Accounting, Organisations and Institutions. Before commencing her academic career, she worked as a tax consultant in International Taxation in Deloitte.
Currently Yanru is the Director for Postgraduate Accounting Programmes. She also works as a Study Advisor for BAcc students.

Supervisory interests
Yanru is interested in co-supervising projects examining:
- Accountancy profession, accountancy identity and socialisation
- Value judgement and accounting practice
- Care, accounting and accountability
- Accounting education
In particular, Yanru would be interested in supervising students to study accounting, audit and accountability issues from a practice perspective.
