Biography
Pia holds a PhD in Finance from Trinity College Dublin. Before joining Glasgow in 2024, she held academic positions at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Leeds.
Pia has published a number of papers in leading academic journals and regularly presents her research at national and international conferences. She serves as Associate Editor for Finance Research Letters and Research in International Business and Finance, and acts as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of academic journals.

Pia's research is centred around the area of corporate finance with a particular focus on a firm's financing decision across the life cycle. Here, she also examines the role of venture capital and private equity. Her recent research has looked at:
- IPO phenomena including withdrawal and overpricing,
- the performance of listed firms and their payout policies,
- cross-border investments, repeated syndications and investment styles of venture capital and private equity.
Supervision
Pia is interested in supervising PhD students in the wider area of corporate finance. The following topics are of particular interest:
