Biography
Nnanna is a Lecturer in Finance at the Adam Smith Business School. Prior to his lectureship at the University of Glasgow, he was an Associate Lecturer at Coventry University. Nnanna's research involves the use of large-scale observational datasets and quasi-experimental approaches, with a focus on policy-relevant issues in developing contexts.
In addition to examining the 'efficiency of schooling'; human capital externalities; and the wage effects of education and skills, Nnanna's recent research projects aimed at improving understanding of the impacts of parental education and socio-economic status (deemed 'intergenerational transmission mechanisms') on investment in education and skills. Nnanna's research also includes market-based empirical studies, with recent projects examining the efficiency of capital markets; and the effect of foreign portfolio investments on market instability.
Nnanna's teaching is underpinned by research, and he has maintained connections with practice. He is keen on employability and advocates experiential learning. He is undertaking some Scholarship (of Teaching and Learning) projects aimed at bridging gaps between theory and practice, making graduates work-ready.
With a background in Mathematics (and Education), Nnanna completed a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Finance with distinction; and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics. He is an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom.
