Biography

Lynn is Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance and Chief Adviser of Studies at the Adam Smith Business School. She graduated with a BSc in Zoology from the University of Glasgow in 1984. She qualified as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant with the National Audit Office and later on, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY. Before joining the University as an academic, Lynn worked for 30 years in the public and private sectors. Her career includes senior positions in local government, management consultancy, corporate finance and public audit.

Lynn is a former chair of CIPFA in Scotland and a former chair of the Local Authority Scotland Accounts Advisory Committee.

Research interests

Lynn is a member of the School's Accounting research cluster.

Lynn is a founding board member of Revenue Scotland where she chairs the audit and risk committee. She is also a trustee of Cash for Kids (Radio Clyde) and chairs its finance, audit and risk committee

Lynn received a new board position of OSCR with the Scottish Charity Regulator. From 1 April 2022, she became a board member and chair of the audit & risk committee.

Professionally, Lynn is the academic member of ICAS’s Audit & Assurance panel and is a member of the TPE panel

She is currently the treasurer/secretary of BAFA Scottish Area Group.
