Abstract
This paper uses a Jorgensonian growth accounting framework to scrutinize the role of China's ICT making- and using-industries since China's reform and discuss the dilemmas these industries face in the government subsidization-driven innovation policies
Bio
Professor Wu is currently a research professor of economics at the National School of Development at Peking University and Director of the NSD “Growth Lab”. His research interests include growth, macroeconomic measurement, and Chinese economy. He once served as a tenured professor at the Institute of Economics at Hitotsubashi University in Japan, a senior academic advisor to The Conference Board (TCB) in the United States, and the research director of the TCB China Center. He was elected as a member of the 28th Council of the International Association of Research on Income and Wealth (IARIW) and the 5th Chairman of the Asian KLEMS Productivity Society.
