Compass Onboarding Programme

As a postgraduate student at the Adam Smith Business School, you'll take part in the Compass Onboarding Programme. Our comprehensive programme will guide you throughout your first 100 days and is here to ensure your successful transition and integration into your academic journey. Compass provides the guidance and support you need to navigate your way to academic and professional success at the Adam Smith Business School.

Here are the key steps of Compass:

  • Orientation Week: The programme commences with an engaging Orientation Week, where you'll have the opportunity to meet your academic programme team, classmates, and key support staff. Check out your programme timetable for details.
  • Micro-Credentials: To enhance your development, Compass includes short micro-credentials which you will be given access to on our Postgraduate Student Information Point. Within the first month, you'll complete sessions covering topics such as using Moodle and systems at Glasgow, academic navigation, careers and community, and wellbeing and student support.
  • Student Communications: Stay informed and engaged with regular updates and communications throughout the onboarding programme. These communications will be sent every two weeks and will highlight key messages, online and on-campus activities, and available resources.
  • Advising Support: Our dedicated advising, coaching, and administration staff will be available throughout the 100-day journey. Look forward to coordinated pop-ups and events that offer personalised support in both one-on-one and group settings.

The Compass Onboarding Programme is more than just an introduction; it is a foundation for your postgraduate success. We are excited to embark on this journey with you and ensure a smooth transition as you begin your academic adventure at the Adam Smith Business School.
