The Athena Swan Charter is designed to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM), the arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law (AHSSBL), and employment in higher education and research.
A Bronze award recognises that the School has a solid foundation for eliminating gender bias and developing an inclusive culture that values all staff. This includes initiatives such as working to promoting the number of female students on courses, ensuring an even balance of male and female teaching and academic staff, and putting equality policies in place for all staff.
The Adam Smith Business School has grown considerably during the last three years and it is a key part of our strategy to embed equality and inclusion.
Christine Barr, University of Glasgow Executive Director of Human Resources, said: "I am delighted the Business School has been successful in securing Athena SWAN Bronze recognition.
"This is a truly terrific achievement and reflects the significant progress with regards to diversity and inclusion related initiatives within and across the School. This testifies to the sheer hard work, commitment and dedication of everyone involved.
