Jan won BGA Student of the Year, and Charlie Greener was recognised and Highly Commended as Start Up of the Year.
Jan’s achievements during his time at the Business School are far ranging. He displayed an aptitude for maximising every opportunity and exemplified a student who utilised his business education for social good to create impact.
Passionate about personal, professional growth and inclusion, he mentored and coached 40 undergraduates to realise and reach their potential.
In addition, he co-authored an academic paper alongside the University’s Assistant Vice-Principal Professor Graeme Roy and subsequently published by Cambridge University Press, and won a sustainability competition to work alongside a global engineering, management and development consultancy to improve Glasgow’s cityscape.
In his final year he co-designed an educational board game that teaches economics, and led major student events including the Schools Adam Smith Tercentenary Student Day.
Charlie Greener was Highly Commended as Start Up of the Year. He founded Theria Games in September 2023 while a fourth year undergraduate and employed 12 staff.
Theria is pioneering a new frontier in the mobile gaming industry as a centralised marketplace for in-game items. Its unique combination of technological innovation, strategic community building, and commitment to customer satisfaction sets it apart.
Theria’s centralised hub simplifies and enhances the mobile gaming experience, bridging a significant gap in the market. Its comprehensive ecosystem, including a guide website, community platform and marketplace, is unprecedented in scope and vision.
Pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with technology in this industry. Its use of AI for dynamic pricing, risk management and content generation position Theria at the cutting edge of innovation.
The AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards bring together the global business education community to recognise and celebrate excellence among business schools, students and graduates, suppliers and employers who share AMBA and BGA's values of ambition, impact and integrity.
