The Challenges and Opportunities of Online Learning

Abstract
What will Digitally Mediated Learning (DML) mean to Adam Smith Business School as it launches its first online degree course in 2020? Whilst some academics see learning technology as a silver bullet to improve the practice of learning and teaching; others may see it as no substitute for face to face teaching. This seminar will take stock of the current use of learning technology before outlining the opportunities and challenges for online pedagogy. There will be opportunities for participants to discuss the challenges and opportunities with other participants, to consider how they might use learning technologies to enhance their learning and teaching practice, and to think about what sort of support might be needed for those wishing to move to a more blended approach to learning and teaching.
