Recruiting Students to the University
Share your Glasgow experience with prospective students! By providing an alumni profile, testimonial, or supporting at marketing and recruitment events in the UK or internationally, you can inspire applicants to become a Future World Changer.
University Events
Get back to campus and help bring events at Glasgow to life by volunteering at one of our many events throughout the year. From panels and conferences to open and offer holders days, there’s an opportunity for everyone. Act as class champion and get fellow alumni from your graduation year to join events. If you are unable to get onto campus or live overseas, you can still help support events by identifying or providing venue space.
Student Experience
Be a part of the student experience by sharing yours! Student clubs and societies love having alumni along to talk to their members about their experiences since graduating. From sharing your career journey to offering tips at skills development sessions, your presence as an alumni can inspire, educate and enthuse students about life after UofG.
Groups and Associations
Alumni Associations and global contacts all over the world help raise the profile of the School and keep alumni connected with each other, by organising regular activities and events. Associations are always keen for new volunteers to support the work they do. We also want to hear from alumni interested in setting up an association or being a global contact in new regions.
Employability
Help students begin to develop their career skills before entering the workplace: a vital part of the Business School journey. Speak to current students during workshops and lectures about your career experience to date and share skills and advice to support their professional development. If you or your workplace can provide industry placements or internships, get in touch to meet the future generation of your industry.
Programme Development
The University is always striving to be at the cutting edge of education, developing new courses and programmes regularly. Alumni volunteers may take part in focus groups to provide their views on existing and proposed courses or programmes, to ensure that students are best equipped to enter the working world of today.
University Reputation
The Business School is proud to be within the 1% of business schools in the world to hold AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditations. Alumni volunteers can help support us with upholding this reputation by participating in surveys, attending reaccreditation visits and sitting on panels.
Lifelong Learning
The University of Glasgow is committed to developing programmes for Lifelong Learning and Executive Education. As an alumnus, you can provide essential advice on the development of these programmes and help to promote to your network and within your organisation
