ZELS-Associated Studentship Programme
The majority of students in our programme commenced in October 2015, and all students are formally registered at one of the UK partner institutions where they will be subject to the subject-specific and generic graduate training embedded within these institutions:
- University of Glasgow (UoG)
- Royal Veterinary College (RVC)
- University of Cambridge (UoC) or
- Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM)
- Institute of Development Studies (IDS)
Students are co-supervised at partner institutions, as appropriate:
In the UK: The Pirbright Institute (TPI), the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)
In Africa: Nelson Mandela Arican Institute of Science & Technology (NM-AIST, Tanzania), L'Ecole Inter Etats des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires (EIMSV, Senegal), Addis Ababa University (AAU, Ethiopia)
In Asia: Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Science University (CVASU, Bangladesh), Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU, Vietnam), University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS, Pakistan)

Benefits
Studentships provide a comprehensive and attractive package of financial support for the duration of the studies, which incorporates:
- A tax-free maintenance grant expected to meet UK Research Council's national postgraduate rate, which is currently £13,863 per annum (2014-2015);
- Full payment of tuition fees+ during an award-holder's period of supervised study; and
- A ring-fenced fund within each studentship budget will be allocated for intensive training, to provide specific individual skills as needed.
