Research interests

Principal research interest over the last 10 years has been caninehyperadrenocorticism. In particular the clinical development of asteroid synthesis inhibitor called trilostane in the treatment of thiscommon canine endocrinopathy. This work has resulted in considerablechanges in the management of this common canine disease within the UKand Europe. Also investigations of adrenal secondaryhyperparathyroidism, a recently identified phenomenon that is probablythe underlying reason for the calcium oxalate urolithiasis, osteopeniaand soft tissue calcification (including calcinosis cutis) seen inhyperadrenocorticism.
