3Ms: Milk and Mastitis Mini-symposium
When? Friday 13 November 2015, 1-5 pm
Where? School of Veterinary Medicine, Garscube Campus, McCall building, Lomond Room (R.309)
Who? Anyone interested in the diagnosis and pathophysiology of bovine mastitis or in panda milk
Why? Because we have an international visitor from Finland and lots of good internal speakers
Programme
1:00-1:30 pm – Patrícia Simões, SVM – use of infrared thermography to diagnose mastitis in pre-partum heifers
1:30-2:30 pm – Heidi Hiitio, University of Helsinki – comparison of bacteriological culture and PCR to diagnose mastitis, and application in Finish veterinary practice
2:30-3:00 pm - break
3:00-3:30 pm – David McGuinnes, Glasgow Polyomics – Milk microbiome of cattle and sheep
3:30-4:00 pm – Mani Mudaliar, Glasgow Polyomics – Milk proteome during onset and resolution of bovine mastitis
4:00-4:30 pm – Malcolm Kennedy, IBAHCM – “All things weird and wonderful” (including the panda milk proteome)
