Manu National Park
The Manu National Park has an area of 1,716,295.22 ha. and is one of the biggest protected areas in South America. In Peru the park is the third largest protected area and is also known as the most biologically diverse worldwide. UNESCO has recognised it as a Biosphere Reserve. Moreover, the park forms part of the Vilcabamba-Amboro Binational Conservation Corridor in Peru and Bolivia. The park is the study site for the Sustainable Manu project, and the support of park managers has been key to our ongoing research in this area. The conservation managers of Manu National Park are also one of the key audiences to whom the findings of the biodiversity monitoring of Sustainable Manu will be delivered.
