Aquaculture interactions with Sea trout in Scotland
Prof. Colin Adams
2015-2018
This study will examine the distribution of brown and sea trout populations on the Isle of Skye and investigate factors that are impacting their productivity, such as habitat degradation, predation, and sea lice densities. Acoustic telemetry monitoring will be used to observe the movement, behaviour, and mortality rates of sea trout as they move through freshwater and marine environments. Comprehensive management plans for sea trout in Skye that can also be applied to fisheries with similar environments will be produced by this research to aid in the international conservation efforts of salmonids.
