Introduction

As part of the University of Glasgow induction process for new employees, or employees moving to new posts within the University, there is a mandatory requirement to undergo two types of safety E-Induction. Both must be completed within 3 months of your position start date. These are:

  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing induction - online at http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/health
You must read the E-induction materials at the page above and then complete a quiz on Moodle 2 (link and details for accessing the quiz are provided)

In addition, everyone working within The School needs to be familiar with the general rules and regulations for health and safety, as described in the School Health and Safety Policy.

The safety policy statement also gives detailed advice on safety with respect to areas of work that are of particular relevance to Institute activities. The regulations relate to all activities within the Graham Kerr Building, the Brian Laboratories, SCENE at Rowardennan, the Henry Wellcome Complex at Garscube and any other location where SBOHVM members are carrying out their work. The statement should be read in conjunction with the University of Glasgow Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy Statement.

There are two SBOHVM Research Health and Safety email addresses.
