Research interests

CVR logo    Virus image CVR Supporting COVID-19 Research Response

My main research interest is to understand the molecular and evolutionary mechanisms that underpin host switching and viral emergence. This formidable task requires an approach that integrates different disciplines such as classical virology, molecular and evolutionary biology, epidemiology and mathematical modeling. The multidisciplinary environment of the Centre for Virus Research together with long-standing collaborations makes this approach possible.
