About the Unit

The Scottish Government International Development department recently announced £1million in funding for a new initiative to bring University of Glasgow, Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, Malawi and University of Zambia together in an innovative collaboration. The funding will enable the building of a new laboratory in Lusaka on the University of Zambia, Ridgeway campus. The new laboratory is already under construction and will enable an expansion of the very successful Blantyre Blantyre partnership between University of Glasgow and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. This funding creates a ground-breaking three-country collaboration in scientific research between Scotland, Malawi & Zambia.
