Dr Dan Fisher
Dr Dan Fisher is a political geographer at the Centre for Public Policy (University of Glasgow) with an interest in borders, processes of asylum determination and refugee integration. As part of his previous role with the UNESCO Chair for Refugee Integration through the Languages and the Arts, Dan worked on an evaluation of Scotland’s ‘New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy’ and contributed to the drafting of the third iteration of the Strategy which was published in 2024. His recent work at the Centre for Public Policy explores the governance practices of refugee integration and the decision-making processes of forced migrants. In 2024 Dan commenced a research fellowship with the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe), which focuses on the inter-governmental communication and cooperation in the context of the emergency evacuation of people from Ukraine to Scotland in 2022.
