Catholic Teacher Education – the next 25 years


To mark the 25th anniversary of the merger of St Andrew’s College and University of Glasgow, the Cardinal Winning Lecture for 2025 will be a panel format, with key speakers from Catholic Teacher Education engaging in discussion on the future for Catholic Teacher Education. This panel will include:

  • Prof James Conroy [instigator of the lecture series in 1993]
  • Bishop John Keenan – President of the Bishop’s Conference of Scotland and and co-chair of Board of Catholic Education
  • Barbara Coupar – Director, Scottish Catholic Education Service
  • Graeme Young – Chair of Catholic Headteachers Association (Primary)
  • Christopher Smith - Vice Chair of the Association of Catholic Secondary Head Teachers in Scotland
  • Professor Margery McMahon – Director, St Andrew’s Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education
