Alistair Brown
Ally is an Understanding Policy Processes & Evidence Needs - Workstrand 1 Researcher and has worked on the Wider Social Determinants of Mental Health project, as part of SIPHER’s focus on public mental health.
Ally is based at the University of Strathclyde and successfully passed his PhD viva in March 2025. His PhD project, supervised by Professor Kat Smith and Dr Lisa Garnham (previously by Dr Clemmie Hill O’Connor, Dr Anna Macintyre, and Dr Gillian Fergie), was part of Workstrand 1. It explored how health and non-health policymakers in Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Scottish Government conceptualised and framed ‘health’, ‘inequalities’ and 'health inequalities'.
