Dr Elaine Coulter

Elaine is a Physiotherapist and completed her PhD in 2012, focusing on wheelchair and walking physical activity in people after spinal cord injury. She has worked in split research, teaching and clinical posts for a number of years within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, University of Ulster, University of Glasgow and Queen Margaret University. In 2018, she joined Glasgow Caledonian University on a full-time basis.

Elaine has a special interest in neurological rehabilitation, with particular interest in physical activity, measurement and use of digital technology to support rehabilitation. She is a co-founder of Giraffe Healthcare, www.giraffehealth.com, a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides an online platform for personalised, video-based rehabilitation.
