Gauguin - The Artist’s Gaze in the Present
18 April 2019, 1-4.30pm
Celebrated French painter Paul Gauguin led a life that raises alarm bells for socially engaged curators.
Please help us to interrogate long established narratives of ‘artistic genius’!
Starting from a collection of eleven works on paper made by the artist, we invite your thought and action.
These objects are a starting point to think around related themes and how we could possibly use other collections to prioritise and tell global stories viewed as urgent.
Bus departs Gilmorehill campus at 1pm for 1.30pm start at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre and will leave for campus at 4.30pm.
Places are limited so please contact Rachel Rowan (2384958R@student.gla.ac.uk) ASAP to secure your place.
