Strategic networks, alliances and consultation hubs
Supergen Bioenergy Hub
We are long-standing members of the UKRI-funded Supergen Bioenergy Hub. The next four-year term of the Hub started in November 2023, with a focus on achieving impact.
TransiT
We co-lead the Twinning for Decarbonising Project – TransiT UK research hub. With the backing of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the hub is scoping potential digital capabilities to manage the reduction of carbon emissions from transport, which currently accounts for a third of emissions across the country.
HI-ACT Hub
Through the HI-ACT Hub, we are helping to accelerate research into systems integration of hydrogen for the future net-zero energy transition through co-creation.
- We are partners of Scottish Carbon Capture and Sequestration (SCCS), the largest carbon capture and storage research group in the UK (see University of Glasgow joins SCCS partnership in climate action)
- We are collaborators in the Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods, which brings together researchers, industry, business, policy, and community partners to help achieve an equitable and sustainable net zero future.
- We are part of the HotScot network for transforming Scotland's mining legacy into minewater thermal resources.
