Travel, Schedule and General information
Travel to the venue
The conference will primarily take place in the Senate Room of the Main Building of the University of Glasgow, situated in Glasgow’s vibrant West End.
Arrival by plane:
The easiest way to travel from Glasgow Airport to the West End is via an official airport taxi (±£25), Uber (±£13-20) or the Glasgow Airport Express (Service 500) (return £13.50) to the city centre and then a subway to Hillhead (±£2). For more information on travel from Glasgow Airport, see here.
Arrival by train:
From Glasgow Central Station or Glasgow Queen Street, take a subway to Hillhead (±£2).
Please note, onsite parking is not available.
Schedule
Monday 30th September
Those of you arriving early on the 30th September in Glasgow may wish to see some of the attractions. A good option would be a ½ day tour to Loch Lomond and a nearby distillery (e.g. Glengoyne). See here for more information.
For those of you who are interested in meeting-up before the official conference starts, we are planning to arrange an informal dinner on the Monday evening. Please indicate your availability via the poll. Further details to follow.
Please note, the cost of the informal dinner is not included in the registration fee.
Tuesday 1st October
The conference will start at 08:15. All sessions on Tuesday will take place in the Senate Room. Registration will open at 08:00.
Lunch will be provided on this day only.
The conference reception (drinks and canapés will be served) and poster session will take place from 19:00 at Òran Mór (a 10-minute walk from the Senate Room).
We ask that all poster presenters arrive at Òran Mór by 18:30 to mount their posters.
Wednesday 2nd October
The morning sessions will take place in the Senate Room. The afternoon sessions will take place in Òran Mór.
Thursday 3rd October
All sessions will take place in the Senate Room.
The conference dinner will take place at the Ubiquitous Chip at 19:00 (a 5-minute walk from the Senate Room) in the lively Ashton Lane – a hidden gem filled with pubs and restaurants, and well worth exploring before and after the dinner.
Friday 4th October
All sessions will take place in the Senate Room. The conference will close at 12:30.
General Information

- WiFi access is provided via Eduroam. If this option is not feasible for you, please contact us.
- We plan to document the event. We would like to photograph the lecturers and the participants. If you have any objections to this, please let us know.

There are numerous lunch options in the vicinity of the conference venues. These include options on the University (One A The Square), sandwich shops, and restaurants.
