Software Upskilling for Researchers: Disseminating your work online using R/RStudio, Quarto, and Github pages

In this workshop, we will

  • provide a tutorial on combining the capabilities of R/RStudio, Quarto, and GitHub pages. Quarto is a flexible open-source scientific and technical publishing system for a range of document types.
  • focus on creating and sharing presentations, websites, and books for dissemination, but the skills will apply to any output.

Bring a laptop and follow the preparation instructions before attending. The aim of the workshop is for everyone to create and host one output. You will then have the resources to continue developing your output after the workshop.

This workshop is aimed at those who have a basic understanding of R/RStudio and want to use it to improve their ability to disseminate their results. If you are new to R/RStudio, you are still welcome to come along to the workshop and see it's capabilities. We will signpost resources for learning how to use R/RStudio, but we will not be covering the basics in the workshop.

This workshop will have some pre-requisites which will be made available closer to the date of the workshop.

We welcome researchers from any college across the university at any skill level.
