Where Perception and Cognition Meet
Congratulations to Professor Jack Lyons on being awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship from September 2024.
The nature and the existence of a scientifically grounded distinction between perception and cognition are matters of great controversy in philosophy and the cognitive sciences. This project spans philosophy of mind and epistemology; it aims to develop a new and better way to understand the perception/cognition distinction and to use that distinction to better make sense of how perception gives us knowledge of the world around us.
