One-year Postgraduate Language Diploma in Serbian/Croatian or Slovene

These intensive language diplomas are aimed at complete beginners, and provide a basis for engaging in research in the Humanities or Social Sciences, or for professional purposes as translators and interpreters.

There is one full ESRC studentship available (fees plus maintenance), either for Serbian/Croatian or for Slovene for which preference will be given to applicants proceeding to research.

Closing date is 12 June 2009. Applicants should send a covering letter, a CV and two references to Professor Cynthia Marsh at the address below. Please contact her if you require further information.

Please note: The eligibility criteria to apply for a CRCEES scholarship is set by the UK Economic and Social Science Research Council (ESRC). The criteria state that full awards (fees plus maintenance support) are available only to citizens of the UK or other EU citizens who have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years. EU citizens not ordinarily resident in the UK may apply, but are eligible to receive funding towards fees only. Non-EU citizens who have been living and working permanently in the UK for 3 years are entitled to the full award.

For more details on eligibility see ESRC website.
