Celebrating Russian at Glasgow University, 5 March 2014
WOLFSON MEDICAL BUILDING, SEMINAR ROOM 2 (SIR HUGH FRASER),
University of Glasgow, 5 March 2014, 9.45 – 7.30pm
This one day conference will look at Russian teaching then and now in Glasgow University and in Scotland, but also has a European and Russian focus on the theme.
This is the first of a number of planned events which will focus on the 2014 Year of Russian/British Culture under the general title "GLASGOW UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES THE UK-RUSSIA YEAR OF CULTURE" and will reflect on the role Glasgow University has played in the promotion of Russian in Scotland as well as the strategic position of Russian Studies today.
This series of events will highlight the important role of Glasgow University as a Key Centre for Russian Studies; we aim to have a balance between academic events and outreach events so that the public can appreciate Glasgow’s role within this year of Russian-British Culture and we expect to forge important new academic links with Russia.
