CRCEES and the University of Glasgow would like to invite you to participate in the International Student Symposium, 'Estonia Brings Us Together' at Masaryk University, Czech Republic on 19 - 20 April 2013.
The Department of Linguistics and Baltic Languages at Brno Masaryk University and CRCEES/University of Glasgow would like to invite you to participate in the student symposium on Estonian language, society, history and culture that will be held at Masaryk University, Brno (Czech Republic) on 19-20 April 2013. The event builds on the success of the previous symposium held in 2011 at the University of Glasgow.
The aim of this symposium is to bring together students from different countries who study Estonian language and/or culture, as well as students of Estonian origin and students from Estonian higher education institutes to give them possibility to meet, learn from each other and make new contacts.
The symposium welcomes proposals concerning any of the following aspects of Estonian society, culture, politics, past or present:
- Aspects of identity and culture
- Economic and social transformation
- Political transformation and international relations
- Literary, cinematic and cultural development
- Language
Refreshments (tea, coffee), lunch and symposium materials will be provided by the organisers. Travel expenses and accommodation should be covered by the participants.
Brno is located in the centre of Europe and is very easy to reach from Vienna Airport or Prague Airport as well as by train from other Central European countries. There is also an airport in Brno. Attendance is free for everyone giving a presentation as well as for staff and students of Masaryk University and CRCEES partners.
