Disadvantage and Participation in Accountability Processes

Education is a fundamental human right and is demonstrated to have significant effect on quality of life. Developing countries have successfully improved access to education but not learning outcomes. Many developing countries have created School Management Committees (SMC) for handing more power to the parents and motivate them to demand better education. However, continued lack of involvement from marginalized parents and lack of collective action on their part remain to be a challenge.
