Short Description

This course will enable students to gain an in-depth knowledge from world experts in the field of precision medicine by attending distinguished seminars. Students will have the opportunity to meet some of the speakers.

Timetable

Students will attend the distinguished seminars throughout semesters 1 and 2. Students will be required to attend all scheduled seminars as part of the course.

Course Aims

This course aims to provide students with:

■ In-depth knowledge and understanding of research areas in the field of precision medicine.

■ The opportunity to further investigate an area of research in precision medicine.

■ Training to develop skills in critical evaluation of the literature and scientific writing.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

■ Formulate in-depth knowledge across a range of precision medicine.

■ Summarise and critically reflect upon the content of the seminars.

■ Apply their newly acquired knowledge from the seminar series to critically evaluate the scientific literature in one of the topics covered in the seminar series

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
