Short Description

This course will aid reflection on and consideration of personal and professional contexts in relation to the educational challenge we offer those pupils who might be described as being 'highly able' or 'gifted and talented.' 

Timetable

Semester 2 -

Day course: 5 consecutive days, 9.30-3.30pm

Evening course: 2x 5 hr days plus 5x 2hr evening sessions (April - June)

Distance course: 2 x 5hr days plus online study (April - June)

Class essay 4000 words

Course Aims

1.To assist students to reflect on personal and professional beliefs related to the nature of intelligence;

2.To investigate the nature of intelligence through the examination of theory, research and relevant literature;


3.To consider critically current practice and provision related to the education o
f highly able/gifted and talented learners.
