Short Description
In this course, students will learn about the theory and practice of course/curriculum evaluation, and how this impacts on the design, delivery and governance of courses/curricula.

Essay relating to evaluation of health professions course or curricula (50%) - 1800 to 2500 words. (ILOs 1 and 3)
Weekly posts to online discussion forum (50%) - max 4000 words. (ILOs 1, 2, 3 and 4)
Course Aims
This course aims to give students the opportunity to:
1. Develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of evaluation in course and curriculum design, delivery and governance;
2. Critically reflect on the impact of regulators' and institutional policies on evaluation and on their personal practice in this area.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Critically appraise mechanisms to evaluate courses and curricula;
2. Critically discuss the extent to which course/curriculum evaluation informs the design and delivery of health professions curricula;
3. Critically evaluate the impact of regulators' and institutional evaluation policies on the design, delivery and governance of health professions education.
4. Critically reflect on personal practice in course or curriculum evaluation.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
