Short Description
This course provides ways in which students can engage a variety of audiences with different kinds of film material, through festivals, exhibitions, pop up screenings etc. It offers students the opportunity to develop their own skills in the presentation and writing for a variety of different exhibition sites, through blogs, catalogues, display cards.

Exhibition idea and proposal presentation (10 minutes) - 30%

Course Aims
This course aims to:
■ encourage the acquisition of specific skills in the best practice of exhibition and public engagement of different audiences for a variety of film and media forms.
■ provide students with an opportunity to learn the most effective writing style for different contexts for e.g. in catalogues, blogs, display cards, 'pitch' documents for funding.
■ enable students to reflect on the best practice for film curation and exhibition in their own work and in the work of others.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
■ evaluate practical options for the most effective engagement of a range of different audience enhancing their experience of film and media exhibition and education.
■ apply principles of different modes of writing for different audiences and in different contexts relevant to the particular mode of exhibition or curation.
■ develop innovative models of activity in relation to different kinds of film and media exhibition and curation
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
