Course Aims
To provide students with an opportunity to undertake a supervised research exercise within the context of an agreed subject relevant to the study of Childhood Practice.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
Plan and state in writing a strategy for undertaking a clearly defined research project
Critically review the significance of relevant knowledge in the field in the secondary literature relevant to your chosen topic
Implement a coherent methodology which demonstrates an awareness of alternative research strategies and use of techniques appropriate to your subject of investigation
Present your research in a clear and concise manner
Critically analyse and evaluate research in the context of other relevant research in your field of study
Comply with standard conventions for referencing and bibliography consistently whilst avoiding plagiarism
Identify ethical issues and procedures if relevant for collecting data.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
