Short Description

This builds on Research Approaches in Health Care with the aim of applying methodologies to research practice.

Course Aims

This course aims to explore approaches to data collection and analysis in research practice.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

Appraise the ethical problems involved in research and understand the process involved in gaining Ethics approval for a proposed study

Demonstrate a general understanding of data handling in health care research

Identify a research question and critically appraise research methodologies to select an approach appropriate to the research question

Detail a research protocol, and its justification, suitable for addressing your research question.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
