Short Description
Have you been thinking about how to develop an educational enquiry and want to know how to analyse the data you gather? With a focus on qualitative data, this course gives you the tools to choose a method of analysis and use it to gain insight into your learning and teaching data.
Timetable
10 contact hours delivered through online pedagogies, which may include webinars, participant tasks and short videos. Online activities do not have to be undertaken synchronously, but are more usually required to be completed within a specified period of time e.g. activity or task is set weekly (at the beginning of the week) to be completed by the end of that week.

Assessment
Select two data sets and apply appropriate analysis methods to each, and provide a rational justifying your choices involved in the analyses. NB datasets will be provided but your own datasets can be used with prior agreement with the course convenor.
Course Aims
This course aims to equip participants with an understanding of approaches to analysing data and to inform educational enquiry.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course you should be able to:
1: Critically analyse the impact of applying different approaches to data analysis on educational enquiry; and
2: Apply appropriate data analysis methods to a range of enquiry data.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
