University Accommodation
EUR reserves accommodation for approximately 25% of its incoming international students each year. Due to Dutch housing regulations, the university cannot build its own student residences. Instead, EUR collaborates with trusted accommodation providers to offer students a selection of reserved rooms.
MAGMa students can explore housing options through the following partners:
- SSH
- XIOR Student Housing
- RoomPlaza
- ISHR (International Student Housing Rooms)
- The Social Hub
- Student Housing Willemskade
Rotterdam is currently experiencing a severe housing shortage, making early preparation essential. If you plan to move in June, we strongly advise you to begin registering for reserved accommodation in April and May of your second semester in Paris, as booking windows for student housing open during this period.
By acting early and exploring all available options, you'll be sure to secure a comfortable and convenient place to live while studying in Rotterdam.

Private Accommodation
Most international students at EUR secure housing through the private market, where a diverse range of rooms and apartments are available from private landlords. Accommodation can be found through housing agencies, dedicated rental platforms, Facebook groups, or host family arrangements, with some websites acting as intermediaries to facilitate the process.
Room rates typically range from €500 to €1,000 per month. Utilities such as gas and electricity are often included in the rent, though this is not always the case. Most landlords require a deposit upon signing the lease.

Learning Languages
EUR offers language courses through the Language & Training Centre, with options for all levels of proficiency. MAGMa students have the option to take lessons in French, Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, and Dutch Sign Language (DSL).

Public Transport
Rotterdam has a well-connected and efficient public transport system, making it easy to navigate the city and beyond.
- Metro: The Rotterdam Metro, operated by RET, is the fastest and most convenient way to travel across the city and the surrounding region.
- Trams and Buses: An extensive tram and bus network, also run by RET, connects all parts of Rotterdam, ensuring easy access to key locations.
- Cycling and Water Transport: Rotterdam is a bike-friendly city with dedicated cycling lanes, making it easy to get around on two wheels. Water transport such as water taxis and ferries also offer a scenic and efficient way to travel.
