A vital facet of our programme will be its international profile.
Investigators in infectious disease research institutes in Africa and Europe will be involved in PhD Projects as co-supervisors or collaborators.

- Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme (Blantyre, Malawi): Partner institution providing PhD co-supervisors, research collaborations and hosting AfrIBOP
- Wellcome Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kilifi, Kenya): Partner institution providing PhD co-supervisors, research collaborations and hosting AfrIBOP
- Uganda Virus Research Institute (Entebbe, Uganda): Partner institution providing PhD co-supervisors and research collaborations
- Ludwig Maximilian University (Munich, Germany): Partner institution providing PhD co-supervisors, research collaborations and hosting practicals (imaging)
- Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (Nairobi, Kenya): Partner institution selecting 2 African students each year funded through University of Glasgow
- Beit Trust: Partner institution funding African MSc students
- AstraZeneca: Partner institution for industrial placements in the Plus Year
