I am completing my NorthWestBio studentship at the AMR and One Health Lab, led by Dr. Linda Oyama, at Queen’s University Belfast.
I have completed a B. Tech in Biotechnology from Dr. D.Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute in Pune, a Post Graduate Diploma in Fermentation and Bioprocessing from St. Aloysious College, Mangaluru and an MSc. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Queens University Belfast.
I have gained 4 years of research experience in Molecular Biology and Molecular Diagnostics, both in industry and academia.
My PhD research is on “Assessing development of resistance against antimicrobial peptides in tuberculous mycobacteria” where I hope to understand the efficacy of antimicrobial peptides as an alternative treatment against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and to assess the development of resistance against antimicrobial peptides in Mtb.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I’m a passionate home cook mainly focusing on savouries and dairy free desserts, an indoor gardener and a singer.
