PIPs Paperwork and Approval Process
Planning Your PIPS
To ensure a successful PIPS, it is essential that you engage in thorough planning and communication with the relevant parties involved. Here are the key steps to consider:
Engage with Your Academic Supervisor:
Collaborate closely with your academic supervisor to discuss your PIPS objectives and expectations. Their guidance can help align your internship with your academic goals.
Consult Your University PIPS Contact:
Your university will have a designated PIPS Contact who can provide valuable support and advice throughout the planning process. They can help you understand the logistics, requirements, and resources available for your internship.
Communicate with the Host Organisation:
Establish a clear line of communication with your chosen host organisation. Identify a key contact person who will assist you during your placement. Discuss your goals, responsibilities, and any specific requirements or expectations they may have.
Familiarise Yourself with Requirements:
Read all provided information regarding PIPS to fully understand what is required of you. This includes documentation, deadlines, and procedures that must be followed during and after your placement.
Prepare Documentation:
Ensure that you collect all necessary information and documentation while on your PIPS. This includes details about your project, objectives, and any relevant contacts or agreements that may be needed for your reports upon returning.
Complete Required Reports:
Be aware that upon completion of your PIPS, you will need to submit reports detailing your experience, skills gained, and how the internship aligns with your research and career aspirations. Having the right information at hand will facilitate this process.
