Research title: How can Health Technology Assessment (HTA) support the optimal use of high-cost devices? A case study of robotic-assisted surgery in Scotland
Research Summary
Bibliography
Tzujung is a motivated Health Economist with over 7 years of experience in quantitative research, specialising in health economic and outcome research (HEOR) across various therapeutic areas and health-related products, including oncology drugs and medical devices.
Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment at the University of Glasgow. She is also a registered stakeholder for Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) early value assessment at HealthTech & Medical Technologies Advisory Committee of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Research interests
Tzujung’s passion lies in improving health resource allocation. Her research focuses on the role of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in the adoption of innovative medical technology, particularly surgical robotics and its optimal utilisation following investment.
Her work mainly focuses on applying the HTA to support decision-making, including evidence synthesis (systematic review and meta-analysis) and economic evaluation (conceptual and decision-analytic modelling). Her research interest is not limited but wider themes such as early HTA, lifecycle approach, HTA in the innovation process, medical device assessment methodology, surgical innovation evaluation and HTA for complex interventions.
