Research title: Circulating MicroRNAs as Diagnostic Biomarkers for Endocrine Hypertension.
Research Summary
Stelios is a thorough, very well-trained, and motivated scientist of Life and Medical Sciences. Graduated with the degree of B.Sc. (Hons) in 'Molecular Biology' and earned his M.Sc. degree in 'Clinical Trials and Precision Medicine. Currently, He is doing his Ph.D. in Precision Medicine which is a joint programme by the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. He will investigate several (circulating) miRNAs, by using omics, machine learning, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, that can potentially serve as biomarkers for endocrine forms of hypertension which can lead to better diagnosis (currently time-consuming and costly) and a better understanding of these conditions at the molecular level.
