Research title: Where can we meet? The intersection between heritage (textile) conservation, colonialism, and climate change
Research Summary
I am interested in how cultural heritage conservation can integrate anti-colonial practices and climate action through collaboration, non-formal education and land connection. Using theories of intersectional environmentalism, decolonial, and Indigenous thinking, she proposes a new conservation framework that values diverse perspectives and deep land ties. Through ecomuseum case studies in Brazil and Scotland, Marina highlights participatory methods as models for aligning conservation with ecological and social justice goals through education.
