Research title: The Idea of Meritocracy and How It Backfires

Research Summary

My research focuses on meritocracy as a partial theory of distributive justice. I try to identify the most defensible version of meritocracy by putting it under an egalitarian framework.

Additional Information

Besides my research, I am also a freelance journalist and have contributed to various Chinese news outlets including FTChinese.com, the official Chinese website of Financial Times, and Caixin Globus. I take a journalistic interest in broad topics related to Chinese and British politics.

Prior to my PhD study, I worked for FTChinese.com as an editor.

I hold an LLB from China University of Political Science and Law and a master's degree in Politics and Contemporary History from King's College London.
